Do you need an apostille on your Permanent Residency card (the Green Card)?
An original Green Card is not required for apostille processing. You can make a color copy of your Green Card and have it notarized by a local notary public. A copy must bear an affidavit (a written statement confirming that a color copy is indeed a true color copy of your permanent residency card).
Need an apostille on your Green Card? Follow these simple steps:
1. Make a color copy of your Green Card.
2. Visit an office of a local notary public to have your Green Card copy notarized. You should also write a statement on your copy confirming that this is a true copy of your Green Card made by you and sign it in front of a notary public. A notary public should then notarize your signature and attest it with a notary seal and a notarial affidavit. When choosing a notary public to notarize your green card copy, make sure you select a properly licensed notary with experience in your state.
3. Mail a notarized color copy of your Green Card to our office for apostille processing.
Obtaining an apostille on the Green Card is a complex process and should only be handled by professionals. Remember that trusting your important documents to incompetent people unfamiliar with the specifics of each country, may lead you to additional expenses, and delays of your important business by weeks, or even months. That’s why we recommend that you should let Global Apostille take care of obtaining an apostille on your Green Card.
