Dual Citizenship Apostille

Why do I need a Dual Citizenship apostille?

Dual citizenship (a legal status that allows a person to reside in one country and hold citizenship from another country) offers many benefits. Dual citizens enjoy the ability to travel visa-free to more countries, have more opportunities for business, benefit from certain taxation rules, and overall, have a better quality of life.  Not all countries allow dual citizenship. This means that if you decide to become a citizen of a country that does not accept dual citizenship, you will need to relinquish a passport of your native country before you can become a citizen of the new country. The United States allows dual citizenship and US citizens can become citizens of a second country through marriage, or blood relations (parents, grandparents, or other ancestors).

Applying for dual citizenship is a complex process that requires a lot of paperwork, most of each need to be apostilled. Below is the list of the documents typically requiring apostille for dual citizenship application:

- Birth or Death Certificate
- Marriage or Divorce Certificate
- Passport
- National Archive Documents

Countries that allow dual citizenship:

Albania, Algeria, Angola, Antigua & Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Australia, Barbados, Bangladesh, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Kosovo, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malta, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vanuatu, USA
