Does your University Degree require an apostille?

An apostille is usually requested to prove that your degree is legitimate and true. Before your Degree can receive an Apostille, it needs to be signed by the University’s Registrar and notarized.

Global Apostille can apostille University Degrees for use in over 115 countries-members of the Hague Apostille Convention. We also provide a Legalization process on Degrees for use in over 60 non-member countries of the Hague Apostille Convention. The most common countries that require an Apostille on University Degree are Italy, South Korea, and Spain. Most often, the Legalization process is requested by these non-member countries: China, Kuwait, Taiwan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

How to obtain an Apostille on University Degree?

Step #1: You should start by contacting the University’s Registrar’s office and telling the Registrar that you require the original or a color copy of your degree to be signed and notarized. The Registrar with either ask you to send in your original Degree or email its color copy. Some Universities may request that you should purchase a new degree certificate, which may take them some time to print. Many Universities have notary public on staff that can notarize your Degree. If your school does not have one, you can find a traveling notary online and arrange for him to come to the University and meet with the Registrar. Please make sure the Notary you select, knows notarial laws in your state and uses an appropriate affidavit so that the State office could authenticate your Degree with an Apostille.

Step #2: Once your degree is signed and notarized, please check it carefully to verify that it was done properly. Some universities put signature and notarization on the backside of a Degree, while others place them on the front side. Regardless of the placement, make sure that your Degree has the original signature, the printed name of the Registrar, as well as the Notary’s name, signature, date of notarization, notarial affidavit, and stamp.

Step #3: The last step is to mail your Degree to our office for processing.

"When I was trying to get OCI Processing for my son done in India, I came to know that birth certificate Apostille should be submitted. I was not aware of such a thing. I was not sure whom to trust, I have sent emails to few agencies who said they will get it done. The one thing I really liked about Global Apostille is their prompt response and clear communication through emails."
