US Embassy Single Status

Are you currently abroad and need an Apostille on your Single Status?

Have you already contacted the local U.S. Embassy office about obtaining a Single Status?

A U.S. Embassy may typically refer to a Single Status document as:

  • Affidavit of Civil Status
  • Eligibility to Marry
  • Single Status

Please keep in mind that an appointment is needed to meet with an official from the U.S. Embassy.  A U.S. Federal notary public must be present to witness your oath and notarize your signature on the document.

Next, you will need to mail in the original notarized copy to our office. The processing time for a Single Status document is four business days upon receipt.

If the U.S. Embassy is unable to help you, you may need to contact the County Clerk in the County of your last residence.

County Clerk offices typically call this document as:

  • Affidavit of Single Status
  • Affidavit of Marriageability
  • Certificate of Freedom to Marry
  • Certificate of No Impediment for Marriage
  • Certificate of No Record – Marriage
  • Certificate of No Public Record
  • No Record of Marriage

Obtaining an apostille can be intricate. Avoid leaving this task for inexperienced staff or non-professionals who are not fully aware of the complexities of the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your application may be rejected, and you lose time and money. Make a better choice!

Our experts are available Monday through Friday from 10.00 AM to 6.00 PM. Please call us at 1-770-447-0360 and we will answer all your questions and offer easy to follow detailed instructions.
